The following year, Anna-Maria made a breakthrough in her career, when she was chosen for the role of Laura Biel in the erotic thriller “365 Days”. The film is based on the erotic thriller novel of the same name written by Blanka Lipinska, and is the first film in which Anna-Maria’s character travels to Sicily, Italy, to save her failing romance. However, she’s kidnapped by mafia boss Massimo. He doesn’t want to kill her or anything similar, but will give her 365 days to fall in love with him.
The film focuses on their growing relationship, which turns into a love-hate romance. The film premiered on 7 February 2020 in Poland, and was made available on Netflix on 7 June 2020. It became the most-watched film of the year on Netflix; however, it received negative reviews globally; moreover, Anna-Maria received a Golden Raspberry Award nomination for the Worst Actress. Despite the negative reviews, Anne-Maria became one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood in 2020.
Her co-star was Michele Morrone, and the two both turned into stars. Despite the negativity from the critics and fans, both Anna-Maria and the rest agreed to the sequel. Entitled “365 Days: This Day” happens after the first 365 film, and starts with Massimo and Laura marrying. Their daily arguments put a strain on their relationship, and she ends up heartbroken when she discovers Massimo is having an affair with his ex-girlfriend Anna. She meets a man named Nacho who starts flirting with her, and their relationship develops, which adds conflict into the marriage. As the film progresses, Laura, Nacho, and Massimo get into all kinds of trouble, and Laura ends up being shot by Massimo’s twin brother, lying in Massimo’s arms at the end of the film.
Based on the second novel from the trilogy by Blanka Lipinska, the film premiered on 27 April 2022, but followed its predecessor with a highly negative critical reception. Nevertheless, Anna-Maria’s popularity has only continued to increase.
The third film in the franchise, “The Next 35 Days”, came out on 19 August 2022. Laura survived Adriano’s attack, but he is dead, and Massimo is grieving his loss despite the two being arch rivals their entire life. Massimo and Laura’s marriage is tested, with her fleeting romance with Nacho developing. At the end of the film, Laura is asked by Massimo to choose between him and Nacho, however, she doesn’t answer.
The film continued where the predecessor stopped in terms of negative reviews, but this didn’t stop Anna-Maria from attaining world fame, and she’s now a world star thanks to the erotic thriller trilogy, and is looking to push her career further forward.
Theater Career
In addition to her work on-screen, Anna-Maria is known for her theater work. She toured at the Sommerszene Festival in Salzburg and in Madrid at the Teatros Canal in Marta Gornicka’s play “The Chorus of Women: Magnificat”. She also starred in the play “Valentine’s Day” performed at the Norwid Theatre in Jelenia Gora, and received a standing ovation for her performance, despite being announced as the lead role just two days before the premiere.
She starred in the play “Ryngraf” which premiered in June 2022 in Poland, and to speak further of her accomplishments, she is set to star as Death in the play “Ausencia”, a biopic story about the renowned Polish-born Mexican theatre, opera, and film director Ludwik Margules. The play will premiere at the Cultural Center in Lublin.
