Who is Sky Katz?
A singer-songwriter, rapper and actress, Sky Katz rose to prominence as a contestant in the world-popular show “America’s Got Talent” in 2016. Today, she’s perhaps known best for her role as Tess in the musical comedy-drama “Raven’s Home”, which brought her a Daytime Emmy award nomination for Outstanding Young Performer in a Children’s Program in 2021.

Early life, family, and education
Born Skylar Jade Katz under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius on 12 December 2004, in Huntington, New York USA, Sky holds American nationality and her ethnicity is Caucasian. She was raised in her hometown by her parents, Fanny and Mike, alongside her elder siblings Dylan, Hailey and Madison.
Sky had an interest in music and performing from an early age, and her parents supported her dream to become a famous rap star, aged just 11.
When it comes to her educational background, Sky attended West Hollow Middle School, and upon matriculating in 2022, she hasn’t enrolled at college, but is pursuing her acting career.
America’s Got Talent and Music Career
Sky’s audition on “America’s Got Talent” was seen in Episode 1106 of the 11th season of the show. She performed her original song “Fresh”, and the judges, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Simon Cowell all voted ‘Yes’. In Episode 1108, Sky performed her new song, entitled “Party Ain’t A Party”, however, it seems that her performance wasn’t strong enough, since the judges didn’t send her to the Quarterfinals. However, her talent was unquestionable.
On 25 February 2016, Sky launched her self-titled YouTube channel, which is today subscribed to by nearly 450,000 people, and all of her videos combined have amassed over 25 million views. Her fans can enjoy her music videos on her channel – most recently, on 17 December 2022, she uploaded her newest song “P. O. S”, which has already gained more than 40,000 views and over 1,500 likes.
Her music can also be heard on Spotify and SoundCloud. She has over 30,000 listeners monthly, and some of her most popular songs are “FYF”, “Breakup Song”, “Why Did You Call?” and “Like This”.
Acting career
Sky made her acting debut as Tess O’Malley in “Raven’s Home” in 2017, and was seen in 81 episodes through 2021. The series followed the story of Raven Baxter, a psychic, who would never guess that she would become a single mother of twins, Nia and Booker, and share a home with her best friend, Chelsea, and her son Levi. Sky’s character was Nia’s best friend who lived across the hall. Tess is a cool, streetwise tomboy, but also a caring friend.
The stars of the show were Raven-Symone, Anneliese van der Pol, and Issac Ryan Brown; the series had 26 award nominations and two wins.
In 2022, Sky was cast to play Summer Torres in the family drama “Surviving Summer”, playing the lead role opposite Kai Lewins and Lilliana Bowrey. The series follows the story of a rebellious teenage girl, Summer, who after being expelled from school, is sent to live with family friends in the tiny Australian town of Shorehaven, where she falls in love with the town, the surf, and the people, although she tried with all her might to prevent that from happening.
The show was well accepted by the audience, and was nominated for the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award for Best Editing in Television for the episode “For Laynah”.
Sky’s fans were thrilled when they heard that the series is renewed for a second season, and that it should be premiered in 2023.

Love life and relationships
Although her love life has been the subject of many rumors, she has managed to keep quiet about her relationships. One of the rumors was that she was dating her colleague from “Raven’s Home”, Issac Ryan Brown, however, both confirmed that they are just close friends.
When her new series “Surviving Summer” premiered, people began talking about her and her co-star, Kai Lewins – the reason for these rumors was the photo Sky posted on her Instagram featuring the two of them hugging. However, according to Sky, they are just friends and fellow actors.
Another rumor about Sky is that she’s bisexual. There have been some rumors circulating the internet and tabloids that Sky is in a relationship with Savannah La Rain, also her co-star from “Surviving Summer” (she plays Bodhi Johnson). The magazine Cosmpolitan wrote about the two of them, saying that one Twitter user wrote that he found out that the girls are dating in the real life.
When Sky posted a photo on her Instagram, sharing a birthday tribute to Savannah, many of her fans saw this as a confirmation of their relationship, however, neither Savannah nor Sky spoke publicly about these assumptions, and rumors soon began saying that the two broke-up.
On 9 February 2023, Sky posted two photos featuring her and João Gabriel Marinho, also her co-star from “Surviving Summer”. This Brazilian actor portrays Marlon Sousa in the series, and the mentioned photos of the two of them caused new rumors. In the first photo, they are hugging and smiling, while the second shows João shirtless while Sky is hugging him, and many of Sky’s followers commented that the photo shows the intimacy between them. In the comments, he wrote ‘Love u linda’ (Linda means beauty in Portuguese).
Neither Sky nor João commented about their relationship, however, many believe that they are a couple.
