Andrew went to a local high school and had a somewhat rough childhood, since he grew up a loner, and barely participated in any games, which made him an easy victim of bullying. After he matriculated, he enrolled into Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, from which he graduated with a Computer Science degree in 2001.

Career as a Comics Creator and Artist
Andrew made his career debut by making and uploading comics on several video game forums. In 2007, he made public his “MS Paint Adventures,” which included the comic series entitled “Jailbreak.” During June and July 2007, he released “Bard Quest,” then “Problem Sleuth” (2008-2009), and later “Homestuck” between April 2009 and April 2016. Subsequently, he released “Homestuck Epilogues” (2019) and “Homestuck 2” starting from September 2019. He’s also credited with creating the standalone comic “Team Special Olympics.”
Hussie collaborated with Jan Van Dem between 2006-2010 to release several parody videos about the fictional TV show “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and also partnered with his brother to make the video series entitled “Barty’s Brew-Ha-Ha” (2006-2011), which follows the story of a strange character who is constantly examining the creature Bigfoot. Moreover, he has contributed to the release of a few video games, such as “Namco Swap” and “Hiveswap” both in 2013, 2018’s “Hiveswap Friendsim,”, and “Pesterquest” in 2019.
Hussie wrote his first book “Whistles, Book One (The Straight Calliope)” in 2005 and uploaded it onto the internet in February that year.
Originally, he wanted it to be a short comic (two pages) but it ended up being a whole book, and which he worked on it for close to six months. He made public the first volume of his next book – “Problem Sleuth” – in 2009, and named it “Compensation, Adequate.” Later in the year that followed, he released the second volume, “This Is Complete BS,” before releasing the third volume “Suitor to the Sodajerk’s Confidante” in the same year. In 2017, he released the fourth volume, “Black Liquid Sorrow” and then in 2019 his Volume Five, “Sepulchritude’,’ but didn’t announce whether or not it was the final volume.
Additionally, Andrew has published his “Homestuck” book, which has three volumes and is connected closely to eponymous comics.

Social Media Presence
Similar to many celebrities, Andrew is active on several social media platforms. However, he doesn’t have a huge following since he rarely posts on Facebook; he has less than 10 posts on his Instagram, and doesn’t tweet regularly on Twitter, but nonetheless uses his latter account to update his fans about his upcoming projects, as well as his personal achievements.
Andrew has been keen to keep his love life away from the limelight, and hasn’t introduced anyone as his girlfriend or fiancee publicly.
Rumors have it that he once dated his high school sweetheart for around three years before they ended their affair; it’s not known why the duo called it quits, but it’s alleged that their long-distance relationship was not going well with their careers. There are other rumours that he might be gay, and several people have claimed to have seen him being very close to a mysterious male friend. Other people have noted that his Instagram pictures look very ‘gayish’ which has fuelled these rumours. He hasn’t addressed the rumors though, so as of 2021, he’s believed to be single and without children.
By 2011, Andrew’s multimedia webcomic “Homestuck” was attracting close to 600,000 visitors daily, and according to him, ‘The bigger the fandom got, the more controversial everything was… practically everything that happened was a serious point of contention – a reason to argue, discuss, to generate pages and pages of heated dissertation on what everything means…’
Some argued that his comics were full of abortion jokes, semi-graphic rape, racism, and inappropriate feminist jokes, an allegation he dismissed during a certain interview. He explained that he has a twisted sense of humour and that he didn’t intend to offend anyone with his books and webcomics.
Andrew is of white ethnicity, and has black eyes and short brown hair. He weighs around 140lbs (64kgs) and is 5ft 3ins (1.61m) tall.
