Who is Chris Geere?
Christopher William ‘Chris’ Geere was born in Cambridge, England, on 18 March 1981 – his zodiac sign is Pisces, and he holds British nationality. He’s an actor with close to 50 credits to his name, while he’s perhaps known best for his portrayal of the main character Jimmy Shive-Overly, in the critically acclaimed romantic comedy series “You’re the Worst”. It was created by Stephen Falk, also starred Aya Cash and Desmin Borges, and follows two toxic people who have fallen in love; the series aired from 2014 to 2019, and was nominated for 16 awards.
Early life and education
Chris was raised in Cambridge by his parents about whom nothing’s known, as they prefer to be left out of media; because he hasn’t spoken of having any siblings, Chris is believed to be an only child.
He became interested in acting while still attending a local high school, appearing in various plays performed at the school and a local community theatre; Chris was also into sports during his four years there, mostly focused on playing soccer, the most popular sport in Europe.
Upon matriculating in 1999, he enrolled at the University of Surrey’s Guildford School of Acting, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in acting in 2002, and Chris then appeared in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of “All’s Well That Ends Well”, starring alongside Judi Dench.

Chris made his debut TV series appearance with his portrayal of Medical Student in two episodes of the 2002 comedy “tlc”, while a couple of his following roles were in three episodes of the comedy mini-series “Trust”, two episodes of the action adventure fantasy “Adventure Inc.” and the 2004 episode “241: Desperation” of the crime drama “The Bill”.
He gained recognition in 2006, when cast to play Gunner Dean McGowan in the drama “Bombshell”; it starred Zoe Lucker, Andrew McKay and Robert Beck, and follows Major Nick Welling and Captain Jenna Marston who are managing an army unit in Britain. Chris made a guest appearance in only one other TV series by the end of the decade, in the long-running romantic crime drama “East Enders” in 2008.
Between 2007 and 2012, he starred as Matt Wilding in the romantic drama “Waterloo Road”, created by Ann McManus and Maureen Chadwick, and which also starred Philip Martin Brown and Jason Done. The series follows the lives of students and professors at a local comprehensive school, and it won six of the 18 awards for which it was nominated.

Chris made his debut film appearance with his portrayal of Josh Harman in the 2003 crime thriller drama “Danielle Cable: Eyewitness”, while a couple of his following roles were in the 2003 family comedy drama “Wondrous Oblivion”, the 2007 fantasy horror drama “Blood and Chocolate” and the 2008 short drama “Lawnchairs & Grappling Hooks”.
He attracted attention in 2012, when he played Nick in the action crime drama “Cleanskin”, written and directed by Hadi Hajaig, and which starred Sean Bean, Charlotte Rampling and Abhin Galeya. The movie follows a British secret service agent who has to find and kill a suicide bomber living somewhere in Britain; it was nominated for a single award.
The following year saw Chris play Hesper Navigator in the critically acclaimed action science fiction adventure “After Earth”, which won three of the 11 awards for which it was nominated. He then played supporting characters in the 2014 horror thriller “The Last Showing”, the 2016 thriller “Urge”, and the 2018 romantic musical comedy “The Festival”.
Chris’ most recent film role has been his portrayal of Roger Clifford in the 2019 action adventure comedy “Pokemon Detective Pikachu”, written and directed by Rob Letterman, and which starred Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton. Chris is highly secretive when it comes to sharing the details of his love life with his fans, but it’s still widely known that he has been a married man for more than a decade now.
He exchanged vows with Jennifer Sawdon in 2010, in a private ceremony attended by their closest friends and family members; Chris hasn’t shared the exact date of the wedding nor anything about his wife, while his fans have found out that she’s a pianist and singer-songwriter.
In 2012, Jennifer gave birth to their son Freddie Geere.

He likes to do cosplay, and has just recently dressed up as Jon Snow from “The Game of Thrones” for a Halloween party.
Chris has multiple training sessions at the gym each week, mostly because it’s somewhat required for his acting career to stay fit; he also likes to exercise outdoors, mostly by hiking and cycling.
He has his own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are Tom Hanks, Richard Gere and Meryl Streep, while a couple of his favorite movies include “The Terminal”, “Gone in 60 Seconds” and “The Bridges of Madison County”.
