Who is Constance Nunes?
Constance M. Nunes was born in Portugal, on 17 November 1989 – her zodiac sign is Scorpio, and she holds both Portuguese and American nationality. She’s a car mechanic, reality TV star and a model, who came to prominence after becoming the only woman featured in the popular Netflix reality TV show “Car Masters: Rust to Riches”.
Early life and education
Although born in Portugal, Constance grew up in Los Angeles, California, to where she emigrated with her parents at an early age. Growing up, she spent a lot of time at her father’s car repair shop, where she would learn about cars. This ignited her passion for car repair, and inspired her to pursue a full-time career in the field later in life.
Constance matriculated from a local high school in 2008, but hasn’t enrolled at a college, instead choosing to focus on her career.
Constance took her first steps in the modeling industry in 2008, as a model at car trade shows. She was discovered by a talent scout who noticed her at a drag race, and offered her to model cars at a trade event. It didn’t take long for her to venture into more traditional types of modeling, posing for brands such as Jlux Label, Feral Cosmetics and Wrangler.
Constance has since made appearances in several music videos, including “High of My Love” by Paris Hilton, and “I’m a Freak” by Enrique Inglesias and Pitbull.
Her body of work also includes TV commercials for brands such as Reebok and Motorola, as well as Kia’s 2016 Superbowl ad. In addition to modeling, Constance did stunt work for movies “Dodgeball” and “Bring it On”.
Today, Constance doesn’t do conventional modeling campaigns and commercials anymore, but is instead more focused on Instagram modeling.
Constance made her TV breakthrough in 2018, when she became one of the main stars in the Netflix reality show “Car Masters: Rust to Riches”, which centers on the crew from Gotham Garage, who have built a number of props for movies and TV series.
The group is led by Mark Towle, and the show follows them as they give old cars a modern makeover, in an attempt to raise their value.
Netflix has released three seasons of “Car Masters”, while the fourth season is currently filming, rumored to be released in late 2022. The show has accumulated a large audience among car enthusiasts, however, it has recently sparked controversy among some viewers who – in common with many reality series’ – are questioning the show’s authenticity, this time due to insufficient coverage of the mechanical processes.
After the first season came out, Constance became a social media sensation, as her Instagram and Twitter accounts saw a surge of new followers. She has also since opened her own car restoration shop, CARS By Constance, which specializes in restoring ‘60s era Ford Mustangs.
Constance now has more than 16 years of experience in the car industry, having worked on a wide range of vehicles, both as a mechanic for local brands which include CARS Etc., Classic and Charlie’s Corvettes, and as an aftermarket director for brands such as Audi, Ford and BMW.
Constance is very popular on Instagram, with her account numbering more than a million followers, and almost 900 posts. She often posts modeling shots posing with vintage car models, and showcases the cars she’s repaired in her shop.
She is somewhat less active on Twitter, where her account numbers more than 23,000 followers. She mainly uses her presence on Twitter to promote her work, and chat with her fans.
In the past, she’s complained about not having full access to her account, due to ‘unusual activity’, which could explain her not being as active on there.
On TikTok, videos related to her have accumulated almost 60 million views, however, Constance is yet to launch her own TikTok account.
Love life and husband
Despite having a large social media following, Constance doesn’t often talk about her love life, which made a lot of her fans wonder whether she’s single or not. In the interview she gave for the men’s magazine “Maxim” in 2018, she revealed that she often receives love messages on Instagram. While some guys are trying to strike up a conversation by asking about her favorite car models, others are more direct in their approach.
‘People throw out some really crazy lines on my account. I think the best one I heard was ‘You don’t need keys to drive me crazy.’’, Constance said. In the interview, she also opened up about her type, revealing that she likes guys who have the same interest as her, and laugh at her jokes – her ideal date would be at a drag race.
However, Constance has since married her long-term boyfriend and fellow car enthusiast, Jared Toller. They tied the knot on 9 February 2019, in a private ceremony in Piru, California. They subsequently shared photos from their wedding, and Constance can be seen wearing a bold sequined black wedding gown.
All seemed to be going well for the couple until recent months, as public court documents surfaced the Internet, showing that Jared had filed for divorce. Constance has since discussed her separation on the popular YouTube talk show “No Focks Given”, revealing that she was in the process of moving on from her marriage, but no other news about the two has surfaced, so it’s believed that Constance’s and Jared’s divorce is yet to be finalized.
