Who is Consuelo Duval?

Marie del Consuelo Dussauge – known better as Consuelo Duval – was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on 11 January 1968 – her zodiac sign is Capricorn, and she holds Mexican nationality. She’s an actress who has been credited with playing and voicing characters in 40 movies and TV series, perhaps known best for her portrayal of the main character Federica P. Luche, in the comedy series “La Familia P. Luche”. Created by Eugenio Derbez, who also starred in it alongside Consuelo and Luis Manuel Avila, it follows a dysfunctional family living in Peluche City; the series aired from 2002 to 2012.

Early life and education

Consuelo was raised in Mexico alongside her siblings Alfredo, Lourdes and Jose Luis, solely by their father, as their mother died in 1970, when Consuelo was only two years old.

The family lived in the largest apartment complex in Mexico, called Conjunto Urbano Nonoalco Tlatelolco. Consuelo became interested in acting while attending a local high school, and appeared in numerous plays performed at the school, mostly playing lead characters. She was encouraged by her drama teacher to pursue an acting career, but her father wanted her to gain a college degree.

Consuelo matriculated in 1986, and decided to pursue her dreams, thus focusing on acting.

Roles in movies

Consuelo has appeared in 12 movies and 28 TV series. She made her debut film appearance in the 1988 musical drama “Pero Sigo Siendo el Rey”, and gained recognition in 1991, with her performance in the thriller drama “Amor y Venganza”. Directed by Marina Stavenhagen, it starred Alejandra Avalos, Arturo Peniche and Jose Carlos Ruiz, and follows the life of a woman who was once a model, and has now become a famous actress.

In 1992, Consuelo portrayed Janet in the action drama “Comando Terrorista”, and a couple of her following roles were in the 1994 action drama “Los Sanguinarios”, the 1995 drama “Perdoname Todo”, and the 2001 animated action comedy “Serafin: La Pelicula” (voice role).

In 2008, Consuelo was cast to star in the short drama “Zapatitos”, and in 2013, she played a supporting character in the romantic comedy “31 Dias”, written and directed by Erika Grediaga, and which starred Iran Castillo, Lorenzo Balducci and Alejandra Gollas. It follows the life of the author Eva, who’s trying to prove through an experiment that love ends after 30 days.

Two of Consuelo’s most recent film roles have been in the 2019 comedy “Tod@s Caen”, and the 2020 comedy “Y Como Es El?”; she has recently finished shooting for the upcoming comedy “Malcriados”, and is currently shooting for the upcoming comedy “Infelices para Siempre”.

Consuelo made her debut TV series appearance in 1990, with her portrayal of Susu in three episodes of the romantic mystery drama “Yo Compro Esa Mujer”.

A couple of her following roles were in the adventure drama “Muchachitas”, the historical drama “Las Secretas Intenciones”, and the romantic drama “Los Parientes Pobres”.

She gained recognition in 1998, when cast to play Maria Rosenda Sanchez, one of the lead characters  in the popular romantic drama “El Privilegio de Amar”; it also starred Adela Noriega, Helena Rojo and Andres Garcia, and follows the orphan Cristina, whose dreams come true after she’s hired by a modelling agency. In 2013, she starred as Adela Diaz Granados, appearing in all 107 episodes of the romantic comedy “Libre Para Amarte”, which also starred Gloria Trevi and Gabriel Soto, and follows the life of a female taxi driver. Three of Consuelo’s most recent roles in TV series have been in the 2015 episode “Vivir Bien” of the comedy “El Torito”, 13 episodes of the 2019 comedy “Julia vs Julia”, and 13 episodes of the 2020 comedy “Herederos Por Accidente”.

In the ‘90s, Consuelo was in a relationship with a man whom she prefers not to talk about, but on 20 August 1992, she gave birth to their daughter Paly Duval, and on 10 February 1994 to their son Michel Duval. Both are today working in the film industry, however, Consuelo still hasn’t shared any details concerning their father.

Sometime in the early 2000s, she was in a relationship with Octavio de Leon, a non-celebrity Mexican man, but in 2007, Consuelo exchanged vows with Armando Ciurana, a Mexican film writer and director; the two were married for five years, as their divorce was finalized in 2012.

In 2017 and 2018, Consuelo was in a relationship with Jesus Ortiz de Pinedo, who’s probably only known for being the son of Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo, a famous Mexican actor, film director and comedian.
