In 2000, Bokeem Woodbine landed the lead role of Jimmy Best in the thriller film “BlackMale” and was chosen to play Detective Derek Finley in the NBC sitcom “Battery Park” – however, the series was canceled after only four episodes. The same year, he took the recurring role of Dr. Damon Bradley in the second season of the CBS medical drama series “City Of Angels”, which earned him an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
