Heida’s Home Life

Of Heida’s parents, we know that her father worked as a music teacher and her mother as a dental hygienist. A middle child, Heida was raised alongside her older brother and younger sister.

At just eighteen years old, Heida was signed by a modelling agency and thereafter travelled to India for work. A year later, the beauty moved to London and attended drama school in hopes of becoming a renowned actress. Heida’s talent in stage productions led to her being cast for TV work.

Heida’s First Roles

Making waves in the world of acting despite being a newbie, Heida scored a role in the romantic tearjerker “One Day”, the award-winning 2011 movie which followed a young couple played by Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess for 20 years. In the movie, Heida had a bit role as Ingrid.

A year later, Heida played Celeste in “True Bloodthirst”, a horror sci-fi production set in Russia and directed by Todor Chapkanov. Despite the movie’s original plotline in which the Russian government found a way for vampires and humans to coexist, it didn’t do well at the box office, and received abysmal reviews.

Heida quickly bounced back by appearing in two episodes of crime series “DCI Banks”, and eight episodes of “Jo”, a mini-series about a Parisian detective solving the hardest cases in the country.

Poldark Success

In 2015, Heida landed a coveted role in the romantic drama series “Poldark”. Following the story of ex-soldier Ross Poldark after the American Revolutionary War of the 1700s, the series was an instant success, and kept millions of viewers’ eyes glued to the screen.

For her role as Elizabeth Chynoweth, Heida had to take horse-riding classes and harp lessons. Appearing in a grand total of 38 episodes before her departure from the show, Heida quickly became one of the main characters, and was Ross Poldark’s main love interest.

In a 2018 interview with “Great British Life”, Heida reminisced about the cultural differences between England and her native country and spoke positively about her experience on the set. Of sexual harassment in Hollywood, the model commented: “It’s a complicated climate because rules are re-establishing themselves, and that’s going to take some time”.

As a leaving gift from the cast of “Poldark” after her character was killed off, Heida received a bouquet of flowers and a vial. Having built up a close relationship with her cast-members, the actress was understandably sad to leave.

Other Notable Roles

In 2017, while hard at work with “Poldark”, Heida became the leading lady of “Stella Blómkvist”, a crime series based on the best-selling novels by an author of the same name.

Playing a highly intelligent Icelandic lawyer, Heida appeared in all twelve episodes of the show, which was a huge success, and broke records upon premiering.

Other notable roles from the brunette include her performance as Professor Peabody in “Dan Dare”, an animated sci-fi series; showing her versatility and penchant to adapt to any role, Heida lent her voiceover talents to six episodes of the kid’s show.

As for future projects, Heida will be playing Naja in “Against The Ice”, and Elisabet in “Summerlight… and Then Comes the Night”, two movies in the post-production stages which are set to release sometime in 2022. Not much is currently known about the movies.

Heida’s Personal Life

Until now, Heida has only been romantically linked to American producer Sam Ritzenberg. In July 2017, the couple announced their engagement on social media after dating for over a year, much to the delight of her fans.

With a shared love for travel and the arts, Sam and Heida hit it off almost instantly after meeting, although at times, the couple found it difficult to nurture their long-range relationship; in an interview with MailOnline, Heida admitted that her boyfriend always fell asleep while watching “Poldark”.

Before the engagement, Heida relocated to the States and said of the move: “I want to sleep and eat and hike in California – just walking in the sun, realizing how good it is to be a modern woman and not a poor girl whose future is always being decided by men”.

Nevertheless, the actress still spent months away at a time while filming.

Sam himself is a laidback individual with a rugged aesthetic. Born on 27 March 1986, the California native began his career by writing and producing shorts and miniseries, although he had a minor role in the 1996 movie “Jack” at just 10 years old.

Building his producing portfolio up with tongue-in-cheek titles such as “I Can’t Get Laid in My Dreams”, Sam also dabbles in acting from time to time, with his last role being in 2016 short “The Beard”.

In a 2016 interview, Heida admitted to being attracted to her “Poldark” co-star Aidan Turner while dating Sam. Despite the rumors and sizzling chemistry between Heida and Aidan, nothing ever happened, and she and Sam are apparently set to marry any day now.

Heida’s Net Worth

Although figures vary wildly, reliable sources confirm that Heida’s net worth is around $1 million thanks to her acting career, with most of the money coming from her appearance in four seasons of “Poldark”.

The “Poldark” cast have never publicly discussed their salaries, although in 2018 female lead Eleanor Tomlinson spoke out against the gender wage gap, after suspecting that Aidan earned more per episode. Mammoth Screen, the show’s producers, released a statement in which they confirmed Eleanor’s theory, explaining that Aidan was paid more because he had more screentime.

With projects lined up for 2022, it’s likely that Heida’s net worth will keep growing.
