Terrence Duckett was born in 1962 in the USA, of African-American ethnicity, and he holds American nationality. He’s also known for being the ex-husband of the American singer and actress Jasmine Guy.
Early life, family and education
As Terrence only got pushed into the limelight after marrying Jasmine, not a lot is known about his early life and family. It’s reported that, like Jasmine, he also grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and that he has two siblings.
From 1980 to 1984 he studied Business at the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor’s degree. He has since been working with various companies, and has an extensive background in developing marketing strategies.
Marriage with Jasmine Guy
Terrence and Jasmine tied the knot in August 1998, after knowing each other for more than a decade. In 1999, they welcomed their daughter Imani, who is now a promising basketball player. The two mostly stayed away from publicity, aside from appearing together for several red carpet events and charity fundraisers. In 2008, the media reported that Terrence and Jasmine separated and were about to divorce.
Although they tried to keep their divorce process as private as they could, their separation made headlines and sparked a lot of rumors. Jasmine only recently opened up about what she was going through during that time.
She has revealed that the court had ordered Terrence to pay child support for her, however, he apparently stopped fulfilling this obligation in 2010, and reportedly still owes around $40,000 to his ex-wife.

Jasmine was born to an African American father and a Portuguese mother. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, in the affluent Collier Heights neighborhood, where she attended the renowned Northside Performing Arts High School. After matriculating in 1979, she moved to New York City to study dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.
Jasmine made her TV debut in 1982, with a non-speaking role of a dancer in the musical drama series “Fame”.
One of her most well-known roles was in the sitcom “A Different World”, in which she starred as Whitley Gilbert from 1987 to 1993. Jasmine has also appeared in numerous productions of musicals both on and off-Broadway, including “Leader of the Pack”, “Grease” and “Chicago”. In 1990, she branched off to music, releasing her debut album “A Different World”, which peaked at #143 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album featured a mellow R&B sound, and spawned three hit singles – “Try Me”, “Another Like My Lover” and “Just Want to Hold You”.
