Who is Loryn Powell?

Loryn Powell was born in Virginia, USA on 25 February 1987 – her zodiac sign is Pisces, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, comedienne, film writer and producer, and a YouTuber who’s perhaps known best for having written, produced and directed the game-show “Skin Wars: Naked Truth”, which starred Kandee Johnson, Kingsley and Piper Kennedy, and aired its 17 episodes in 2014 and 2015.

Early life and education

Loryn was raised in Virginia by her parents, about whom nothing’s known, as she respects their privacy; she hasn’t talked about having any siblings, and so is because to be an only child.

Loryn became interested in comedy while attending a local elementary school, as she and her parents would often watch comedy shows on TV. She became interested in writing upon enrolling at a local high school, and took creative writing lessons; Loryn was into various other activities during her four years there, including acting with the school’s drama club, singing and dancing.

Upon matriculating in 2005, she enrolled at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2009.

Loryn made her debut film appearance in 2012, when she starred as Matilda in the short comedy “The First Time”, which also starred Sarah Keith and Fanny Slater, and follows four women who are talking about the time when they lost their virginity. In the same year, she played Kemper, in the short comedy film “Surprise”, which starred Brian Thomas Smith and Kerry Barker, and follows Matthew who’s throwing a party for his girlfriend, and instead from her address book, has invited people from her little black book.

In 2013, Loryn was cast to play Party Staff in the romantic horror comedy movie “Shotgun Wedding”, directed by Danny Roew, and which starred Mike Damus, Kim Shaw and Joel McKinnon Miller.

It follows Robert, who has just shot his finance’s maid of honor with a shotgun, while his mother’s trying her best to still make the wedding happen.

Loryn’s only other role has been her portrayal of Bree, in the 2018 horror thriller movie “Rideshare”, written and directed by Tremain Hayhoe, and which starred Bradley Laborman, Syd Wilder and Curtis McGann. It tells the story of a Rideshare app Hitch, which one night contributed to the making of a horror tale.

Loryn has 12 writing, eight producing and four directing credits. In 2012, she wrote and directed the short films “The First Time” and “Surprise”, and in 2014, she wrote and produced several episodes of the game-shows “Dirty Mind Challenge” and “Photobomb”.

The following year saw her write and direct the game-show “Which Is Worse”, as well as write and produce the game-shows “Toplist”, “Debate Your Fate” and “4 Facts 1 Lie”. She then wrote and produced the popular game show “Challenge Accepted”, and the short comedy series “2 Girls Try 21 Challenges in 2 Minutes”.

In 2017, Loryn wrote the episode “Date Is a Four-Letter Word” of the comedy “Lost n’ Found”, which starred Ashley Alva, Brenna Leigh Noguez and Dorothy Dillingham Blue, and follows the lesbian couple Marty and Harvey who are living together in Los Angeles, California.

More recently, in 2018 Loryn wrote the episode “Glamorous Ottoman Makeover” of the reality show “Marketplace Makeover”, in which she starred alongside Drew Dorsey.

In 2015, she edited the episode “Most Disgusting Pizza Challenge EVER!” of the game-show “Challenge Accepted”.

Loryn has competed herself in a number of game-shows, with her first having been “Dirty Mind Challenge” in 2014, and in the same year in an episode of “Room Tour Challenge”. In 2015, she was a contestant in the game-show “Toplist”, and also has competed in “Super Fun Awesome Party Game Time”.

Loryn has made a guest appearance in a couple of talk-shows, such as “Throwback” and “Hollywood Estate Date”.

Loryn launched her eponymous YouTube channel on 27 April 2006, and it’s today subscribed to by almost 50,000 people, while she’s amassed over 3.6 million views of all her videos combined.

Loryn’s #1 video “If Your Drinks Could Talk” has been watched over a million times since 24 October 2020, and features Loryn talking as if she were a variety of alcoholic drinks.

Loryn prefers to keep the details of her love life to herself, but it’s known that she’s married to Shawn Casey, an American non-celebrity man, who’s ‘pretending to be an actor in his wife’s internet videos’. He’s into working out, and is quite active on Instagram, as he’s today followed by more than 11,000 people, and has uploaded over 500 pictures.

Their wedding took place in September 2015, a private ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members, and numerous pictures taken during the wedding can be found uploaded on both Loryn and Shawn’s Instagram accounts. It’s widely believed that the two don’t want to have children because they’re both focused on their careers, however, some believe that perhaps one of the two (or both) is infertile.

Neither has spoken of any other people whom they had perhaps been with prior to meeting each other, so as of September 2021, Loryn’s married to Shawn Casey, and doesn’t have children.

Hobbies and other interests

Loryn’s a huge fan of alcoholic drinks, with her favorites being seltzers; she refers to herself as a Seltzpert – ‘seltzer expert’.

Her favorite season is summer, as she enjoys spending her time at the beach, sun tanning and swimming in the ocean; she’s also a huge fan of beach volleyball and soccer.

Loryn likes to travel, and has been to various US states, as well as to a couple of European countries, including France and Spain; her dream travel destination in Miami in Florida.

She enjoys watching movies late at night, and her favorite actor and actress are Leonardo DiCaprio and Emma Watson, while a couple of her favorite films include “Titanic”, “Inception” and the franchise “Harry Potter”.

Loryn’s a huge dog-lover, and her pet dog Godric Gruffindor can be seen featured in some of her Instagram pictures; she’s created an Instagram account for it, followed by over 8,000 people.

Lory’s age is 34. She has long blonde hair and light blue eyes, her height is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) and she weighs around 128lbs (58kgs).
