In 2002 she released the music video for her single “NO L.O.V.E”, and began working on her debut studio album, however, it was never released because of growing tension between her and the Epic record label; she eventually focused on her education and was released from her contract. However, she returned to her musical aspirations in 2007, but was told to ‘sell’ herself by a manager, so decided to ‘sail’ herself, meaning that she wouldn’t collaborate with the corporation and become available for the masses. However, she filed for divorce in August 2016 and the divorce was finalized in October 2017.
She was dating Big Sean before her divorce, during which Jhene suffered a miscarriage, but the two broke up in December 2018, however, the’ve reconciled, and been together since March 2020.
