Who is Sam Corlett?
Sam Corlett is an Australian actor, probably best known to the world as Caliban in the TV series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” (2020), and as Leif Eriksson in the TV series “Vikings: Valhalla” (2022-2023), in addition to several other roles he’s secured in his career.

Sam Corlett was born on 24 April 1996, in Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia. He is the son of Tim Corlett and his wife Kelly, who are working as a tradesman and a counselor. He has two siblings, a brother named Ben and a sister named Emelia.
After matriculating from a local high school in his hometown, he enrolled at the prestigious Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. Growing up, he never showed any interest in acting, and in high school was more focused on athletics, as he was playing rugby and basketball, captaining both high school teams. However, this ultimately led him to realize that his passions found their expression through stage and screen.
His parents weren’t entirely supportive of his desire to study acting, but he still got himself into a prestigious academy – during those years, Sam studied acting under Elizabeth Kemp, Les Chantery, Glenda Linscott and Andrew Lewis, before obtaining a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Acting in 2018.
To speak more of his time at the academy, Sam traveled to China to perform at the Asia Pacific Bureau Theatre Schools Festivals & Directors Conference as a part of Chris Isaac’s The Emancipation of Alice Paws, a collaboration with Playwrights Australia.
Sam started his career before obtaining his degree. In 2018, he was Oscar in the short film “Noah”, co-starring Mikayla Merks and Michelle Fornasier, written by Emma Beel and directed by Shane van Litsenborgh, about a woman grieving her brother’s death, as she confronts the man who caused it.
The same year, Sam appeared in another short film, “Pretty Face”, co-starring Alexandra Jones and James Rankin.

The same year, Sam secured the role of Calliban, the Prince of Hell, in the award-winning series “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”, a teenage witch who on her 16th birthday must choose between the witch world and the human world. However, nothing is ever as simple for Sabrina, and we see her in all kinds of adventures trying to save the world from evil. The series is based on Archie comics and was created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, starring Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch and Lucy Davis.
Sam appeared in 14 episodes of the critically acclaimed series and fights with Sabrina for the Throne of Hell. Furthermore, a love-hate relationship evolves between him and Sabrina over the course of the series.

The series premiered on 25 February 2022 on Netflix to rave reviews. In March 2022, the series was renewed for the second and third seasons, with a 24-episode order announced back in November 2019. The second season premiered on 12 January 2023, and Sam and others were again praised for their work on the series.
Although he hasn’t won any awards as Leif Eriksson, Sam is currently one of the most popular Australian actors, and his popularity is only increasing.
The third season of “Vikings: Valhalla” is in pre-production and is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2024.
