Who is Christine Harrell?

Early life and education

Christine was raised in Rolling Prairie, in La Porte County by her parents Nancy and Frank, a middle-class family; her mother was a housewife and her father a firefighter.

She attended Rolling Prairie High School, and upon matriculating in 1985, she enrolled at Indiana University, but then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from which she graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and English-American Literature.

Career

She launched her modeling career while still in high school, and at age of 17 in 1984, she became Miss Teen Indiana, and continued on to work as a model when she moved to Los Angeles, until she found a job as an assistant to Elizabeth Dalling, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Special Artists Agency, and Head of International and celebrity representation.

In 1994, Christine produced the movie “Kangaroo Court”, which was directed by her husband, and starred Stoney Jackson, John Colton and Gregory Hines; it was a short drama about an African-American lawyer who is forced to defend a White policeman. The movie had just one award nomination, an Oscar for Best Short Film, Live Action, which Christine shared with her husband, Sean Astin.

Currently, Christine is a Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Lava Entertainment, a company focused on developing new material related to shows, concerts, and the film industry.

Love life and marriage with Sean Astin

Christine hasn’t spoken about her previous relationships, so it’s unknown with whom she dated before she met her future husband.

The two met back in the early 1990s, and after a few years dating, they married on 11 July 1994; they have three daughters – the oldest is Alexandra Louise ‘Ali’ Astin, who was born on 27 November 1996, and she followed her father’s footsteps becoming an actress.

Their second daughter Elizabeth Louise Astin was born on 6 August 2002, while the youngest is Isabella Louise Astin, was born on 22 July 2005.

Hobbies and other interest

After she gave birth to her first daughter, being a home-stay mum wasn’t enough for Christine, so she has been involved in community service, mostly working with the Girl Scouts; she also worked for the local government, beautifying the streets in her neighborhood with her artistic skills.

Who is Sean Astin?

Sean Patrick Astin was born under the zodiac sign of Pisces on 25 February 1971, in Santa Monica, California USA; he holds American nationality and his ethnicity is of mixed German, Jewish, Austrian and Irish descent.

He is a director, producer and actor with over 150 credits to his name, perhaps known best for his role as Sam in “The Lord of the Rings” franchise.

He was raised by his mother, famous actress Patty Duke, and his step-father John Astin, while his biological father is Michael Tell, a writer who worked for the newspaper The Las Vegas Israelite.

His parents were in marriage before Sean was born, which lasted 13 days, since Patty wasn’t sure who the father of the baby was because at the same time she was in relationships with Michael Tell and Desi Arnaz Junior, who was the famous actor and musician, back in the ’70s.

Patty married actor John Astin in 1972, and in 1973 gave birth to Sean’s brother Mackenzie, who is also an actor, and John adopted Sean, however, Patty divorced John and married Mike Pearce, so in the end, Sean has four fathers, and claims that he has a great relationship with each of them.

Sean attended Crossroads High School for the Arts, and upon matriculating in 1989, he enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, from which he graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in History, English Literature and Culture,.

He made his acting debut in the 1981 movie “Please Don’t Hit Me, Mom” acting alongside his mother Patty Duke, however, his first notable role was in the 1985 adventure comedy “The Goonies”, followed by roles in numerous movies and series during the ’90s.

In 2001, he was cast to play Sam in “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, which had 126 award nominations, and won 121, including four Oscars for Best Cinematography, Best Make-up, Best Music – Original Score, and Best Visual Effects.

When Sean reprised his role as Sam in “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, he won the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA Saturn Award Best Supporting Actor, in 2004.

In the following years, Sean was heard as a voice actor as the character of Raphael in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie, series, and video game, so as for other games such as “Lego Dimension” and “Minecraft: Story Mode”.

The list of his roles is too long to enumerate, so we will mention his most recent role as George in “Charming the Hearts of Men”, an historic romantic drama based on true events, directed and created by S. E. DeRose, which was released on 13 August 2021.

His fans will be happy to hear that there is a new movie in post-production, entitled “iMordecai” starring Sean, Carol Kane and Judd Hirsch, which should be released in 2022.
