Who is Allison Dunbar?

American actress, model and TV personality Allison Dunbar Barron was born in Delaware, USA in 1973, and although the exact date of her birth remains undisclosed, Scorpio’s believed to be her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in more than 60 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for playing Kelly in six episodes of the popular crime thriller series “StartUp”, created by Ben Ketai, and which starred Adam Brody, Edi Gathegi and Otmara Marrero. It follows a Cuban-American hacker, a Haitian-American gang lord and a desperate banker who’ve formed their own crime organization, the series aired from 2016 through 2018, and was nominated for only a single award.

Education and early life

Allison and her brother Christopher Barron were raised in Delaware by their mother Wendy Barron who was the Dean of Villanova University’s School of Law, and father Timothy Barron who worked as Deputy Attorney General.

Allison fell in love with acting while attending St. Mark High School, where she was a member of its drama club and appeared in a number of plays performed there. She matriculated in 1991 and then enrolled at Fordham University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in theater and psychology in 1995.

Roles in TV series

Allison’s debut TV series role was playing Allison Marissa Hall in the 1994 episode “Doubles” of the crime mystery “Law & Order”, and she could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the comedy “Wings”, the crime mystery “Silk Stalkings” and the comedy “Cybill”.

In 2000 and 2001, Allison played Hedda Hummer in the comedy “Strip Mall”, which starred Julie Brown, Jim O’Heir and Tim Bagley, and follows a former actress whose career ended when she accidentally killed her co-star Captain Billy. Allison could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the crime drama “Dr. Vegas”, the family comedy “Drake & Josh”, and the crime mystery “The Inside”.

From 2004 through 2007, she portrayed Nicole Lupertazzi in the evergreen crime drama “The Sopranos”, which starred Edie Falco, James Gandolfini and Lorraine Bracco, and which David Chase created. It follows the lives of members of a mob family, the series aired from 1999 through 2007 and won 143 of its 452 award nominations. The remainder of the 2000s saw Allison appear in an episode of the comedy “10 Items or Less”, the science fiction comedy “The Middleman”, and the crime comedy “Castle”.

In 2013 and 2014, Allison played one of the main characters Honey Shaw in the popular western comedy “Quick Draw”, created by Nancy Hower and John Lehr, and which also starred Nick Brown and John Lehr. It follows the work of Sherriff John Henry Hoyle and Deputy Eli.

Some of Allison’s most recent TV series roles have been in the 2020 episode “Mike and Ike” of the comedy “Tacoma FD”, the 2021 episode “Ad Man” of the musical comedy “Dave” and three episodes of the 2022 science fiction drama “For All Mankind”.

Allison’s debut film role was playing Girl #3 in the drama “Body Shots”, directed by Michael Cristofer, and which starred Joe Basile, Scott Burkholder and Liz Coke; it explores the ‘mating ritual’ between men and women.

The year 2000 saw Allison appear in three movies: the fantasy horror comedy “The Convent”, the drama “Time of Her Time”, and the action adventure “Daybreak”. The year 2001 saw her play Connie Eldridge in the action science fiction thriller “Falcon Down”, directed by Phillip J. Roth, and which starred Dale Midkiff, William Shatner and Judd Nelson. It follows the crash of a civilian airliner and US Air Force Officer Hank Thomas who’s attempting to expose its cover-up. Some of Allison’s notable performances in the remainder of the decade were in 2007 in the biographical drama “The Anna Nicole Smith Story” and the action science fiction “The Gene Generation”, and the 2008 short drama “Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance”.

In 2010, Allison played Susan in the horror “Sheltered”, directed by Josh Stoddard, and which starred Stacia Crawford, Gerald Downey and Tricia Small. It follows bartender Joey who’s allowed a group of people to hide from a storm in his home, and who’ve now learned that Joey’s a serial killer.

Allison’s since appeared in only a couple of movies, with her three most recent roles having been in the 2020 comedy “The Opening Act”, another 2020 comedy “Film Fest”, and the 2022 comedy “Classified”; she’s currently shooting for the upcoming movies “MsCurdy Point” and “Maggie Moore(s)”.

Love life and husband

Other than for her acting career, Allison’s also known for being the second wife of famous American actor Ronald ‘Ron’ Perlman, while he’s also her second husband; Ron’s appeared in nearly 300 movies and TV series, and is perhaps still known best for starring as Hellboy in the 2008 action adventure fantasy movie “Hellboy II: The Golden Army”.

Allison and Ron began dating in 2019, and exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Italy in 2022; Allison was previously married to Canadian former professional ice hockey player Sean O’Donnell, from June 2001 through 2004, and they have two children together.

Ron was married to American jewelry designer Opal from 14 February 1981 through 2019, and they also have two children.

Allison hasn’t mentioned other men whom she’s maybe been with, she’s married to her second husband Ronald ‘Ron’ Perlman as of March 2023, and has two children with her first husband Sean O’Donnell.
