It was founded in 2007 by the guitarist Steven Bradley and the lead vocalist Krysta Cameron, and their eponymous debut extended play (EP) was released in the same year. They attracted a lot of attention with this EP, and were thus able to hire the drummer Ryan Pearson.

Her band Spiritbox
In 2016, Courtney and her husband, the Canadian guitarist Mike Stringer, began working on founding their own band – Spiritbox; it was launched on 9 October 2017 after months of delay for unknown reasons. Courtney then revealed that she wanted to leave Iwrestledabearonce because she still felt as a replacement, rather than an equal member.
On 27 October 2017, Spiritbox released their eponymous debut EP, comprising seven songs, then in 2018 bassist Bill Crook joined the band, and in the same year, Ryan Loerke joined as a replacement drummer. It didn’t take long for Spiritbox to attract attention, and on 26 April 2019, their second EP entitled “Singles Collection” was released, comprising five songs.
Ryan quit in 2020, and was replaced by the drummer Zev Rose; in July Spiritbox released their song “Holy Roller”, which became a huge hit, peaking at #25 on Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs Chart, and topping the Sirius XM Liquid Metal’s Devil’s Dozen chart.
