Alabama didn’t like the direct messages sent to her by the drummer of the California-based band, Echosmith, Graham Sierota, in 2016. The drummer, who was then 20 years old, sent the then-13-year-old Alabama private messages telling her that she was ‘beautiful’ and even invited her to his parents’ big family BBQ. Alabama dismissed his request and responded by telling him that she was a child. Her father, Travis, addressed the issue in an interview with The Blast, revealing that he was disgusted when he learned that someone was sending his underage daughter party invites. Sierota later apologized saying that he did not know that Alabama was a minor – Alabama replied by saying that she’d forgiven him.

In June 2015, Alabama was a victim of cyberbullying, criticized for her looks by the famous YouTuber RiceGum, who has more than 10 million subscribers on YouTube. She was arrested and charged with a third-degree count of grand larceny, which she denied.
