Who is Clare Carey?

Clare Carey was born in Rhodesia on 11 June 1967 – her zodiac sign is Gemini, and she holds American nationality, as both her parents are American. She’s an actress with more than 80 credits to her name, while she’s perhaps known best for her portrayal of Lucille Gladner, in the biographical crime series “Aquarius”, created by John McNamara, and which starred David Duchovny, Grey Damon and Gethin Anthony. The series follows the detective Sam Hodiak and his trainee, as they’re solving crimes in Los Angeles, California; it aired in 2015 and 2016, and won one of the two awards for which it was nominated.

Early life and education

Clare was raised in Los Angeles by her father who was a doctor, and her mother who was a teacher; they were both on a Catholic mission in Rhodesia when Clare’s mother gave birth to her.

She became interested in acting while attending a local high school, and was encouraged by her drama teacher, who cast her to play the lead character in a school play. It didn’t take long for Clare to fall in love with acting, and she then practiced her skills at a local theatre. She was also interested in various other activities during her four years of high school, as she practiced singing, did gymnastics, and played volleyball.

Upon matriculating in 1985, Clare enrolled at New York University’s Film School, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989; she also studied Shakespeare at the Royal Academy in London, England.

Roles in movies

Clare made her debut film appearance in 1987, with her portrayal of Mary Beth in the horror comedy “Zombie High”, and by the end of the ‘80s, she’d appeared in a couple of other movies, such as the 1987 science fiction horror “Uninvited”, the romantic action comedy “Once Upon a Texas Train”, and the  horror comedy “Waxwork” both in 1988.

She gained recognition in 1995, when she starred as Dana Bixler in the drama “Betrayed: A Story of Three Women”, directed by William A. Graham, and which also starred Meredith Baxter and Swoosie Kurtz. It follows two women who have been friends for years, while one’s husband has now begun cheating her with her friend’s daughter. The remainder of the ‘90s saw Clare appear in several other popular films, including the 1996 science fiction “Them”, and the 1997 thriller drama “Echo”.

Her following notable performance was her portrayal of Skater, in the 2001 critically acclaimed action adventure comedy “Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles”, directed by Simon Wincer, and which starred Paul Hogan, Linda Kozlowski and Jere Burns.

It follows an Australian man and his son, who have travelled to Los Angeles to shoot a movie; the film won one of the three awards for which it was nominated. The following year saw Clare play Kate McAllister, in the family crime comedy “Home Alone 4”, and in 2006 she appeared in the action crime comedy “Smokin’ Aces”, which won four awards. A couple of her following roles were in the 2007 family mystery comedy “Shredderman Rules”, the 2009 western comedy “Triggerman”, and the 2010 mystery crime drama “The Trial”.

In 2014, we saw Clare play Zoe, in the romantic drama “Soul Mates”, and her two most recent roles in movies have been in the 2016 family comedy “Savannah Sunrise”, and the 2019 short horror “Angels Ladder”; she’s currently shooting for the upcoming short drama “Midsummer”.

Clare made her debut TV series appearance in the 1988 episode “The White Hand” of the action crime drama “Houston Knights”, and the following years saw her make a guest appearance in an episode of various series, such as the family comedy “Mr. Belvedere”, the action adventure comedy “CBS Summer Playhouse”, and the crime comedy drama “Dragnet”.

Between 1989 and 1995, Clare starred as Kelly Fox in the sports comedy “Coach”, which also starred Craig T. Nelson and Jerry Van Dyke, and follows the life of Hayden Fox, who’s a university’s football team head coach; the series won 14 awards, including two Primetime Emmys, while it was nominated for 27 other awards.

Clare then returned to appearing in an episode of various series, such as the crime drama “Vengeance Unlimited”, the action crime adventure “Walker, Texas Ranger”, and the action science fiction comedy “The Invisible Man”.

In 2005 and 2006, she starred as Sarah Parker, in the crime horror drama “Point Pleasant”, created by John J. McLaughlin and Marti Noxon, and which also starred Elisabeth Harnois and Grant Show. It follows a strange girl who has come to a small town in New Jersey, and has the ability to control the people around her. Clare then went on to play the supporting character Mary Bailey, in the critically acclaimed mystery action drama “Jericho”, and in 2008 and 2009, she portrayed Christine Emory in the drama “Crash”.

Three of her most recent roles in TV series have been in the 2014 episode “Dead Woods” of the mystery crime drama “NCIS: New Orleans”, four episodes of the comedy “Maid to Order” in 2017, and the 2019 episode “All That Hard, Glossy Armor” of the mystery fantasy drama “The Magicians”.

In 1995, Clare voiced Jane in the video game “Johnny Mnemonic: The Interactive Action Movie”.

Husband and children

Clare’s highly secretive when it comes to her love life, and hasn’t shared any details concerning her husband and their two children, not even the date of their wedding, as they prefer to be left out of media.

It’s known that her husband, Seth Seaberg is an American businessman, who’s today the CEO at Land Systems Corporation. He hasn’t kept Clare company during any of her red carpet events, as he avoids being in front of the camera. Neither Clare nor Seth have shared the dates of birth of their two daughters, and it’s only known that the name of one of them is Lusee Seaberg;

Clare hasn’t spoken of any other men whom she had perhaps dated prior to meeting Seth; as of September 2021, she’s married to Seth Seaberg, and has two children with him.

Hobbies and other interests

Clare’s passionate about travelling, and her acting career has taken her all around the world. She has been to nearly all the US states, various European countries, and several Asian countries; her dream travel destination in Venice in Italy.

She prefers to spend her spare time in nature rather than in overcrowded cities, and her Instagram account is filled with pictures taken at various natural locations.

Clare’s favorite season is summer, mostly because she enjoys sun tanning at the beach and swimming in the ocean.

She has her own favorite actors and actresses, some of whom are the late Robin Williams, Will Smith and Rosario Dawson, and a couple of her favorite movies are “Good Will Hunting”, “Good Morning, Vietnam” and “I, Robot”.
