What is Jason Aldean’s ex-wife Jessica doing today? Wiki

Published

on

Who is Jessica Aldean?

Jessica Ann Ussery was born in Georgia, USA on 18 October 1979 – her zodiac sign is Libra, and she holds American nationality. She’s known to the general public for being the first wife of the famous country musician, Jason Aldean.

Early life and education

Jessica grew up in Macon, Georgia, alongside her three siblings as devout Christians, and received primary education at private Christian schools. Jessica hasn’t spoken publicly about her parents, preferring to keep them out of the public eye, thus nothing is known about them.

Jessica studied at Windsor Academy high school, and during her time there met her future husband, Jason; they started dating, and went to homecoming and prom together.

After matriculating high school in 1997, Jessica didn’t enroll at a college, and instead started working various jobs right away.

Marriage with Jason Aldean

Jessica and Jason had a long history together, being the model ‘high school sweethearts’. Their relationship continued even after Jason gained fame for his music, and in 2001 the couple celebrated their love by tying the knot in a private ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jessica gave birth to their first child, daughter Keeley in February 2003, and four years later in August 2007, they welcomed their second daughter Kendyl.

During their marriage, Jessica was working for Jason as his assistant, handling his finances and business matters. ‘She handles all the stuff I don’t want to handle. I’m the guy who wants to play my music and meet my fans. She picks up the phone and makes the business call. When it comes to the music, she’ll give me her opinion if I ask her but that’s about it. It works out pretty good.’, he revealed in an interview he gave for the magazine “The Boot”.

However, not everything was ideal in Jessica and Jason’s marriage – in 2012, rumors about Jason’s infidelity started appearing online and in tabloids. Namely, Jason was spotted cozying up with the former “American Idol” contestant and Charlotte Bobcats cheerleader, Brittany Kerr.

The scandal caused a huge drift in Jessica’s marriage with Jason, and in April 2013, he filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized in 2014, and Jason then announced his engagement with Brittany. Following their separation, Jessica and Jason stayed on amicable terms, and spilt custody of their two children.

Where is she now?

Jessica has since basically disappeared from the public eye, which left a lot of people wondering what she’s doing nowadays. As it turns out, in Florida on 17 October 2015, she remarried to non-celebrity Jake Marlin, who helped her raise Keeley and Kandyl, while the kids also see their father on a regular basis. Not a lot is publicly known about Jessica’s husband, except that he works as an electricity lineman.

Jessica continued working as a business consultant for local companies, and is apparently considering opening her own business.

Jason was born to Debbie and Barry Aldean, who divorced when he was only three years old – he continued living with his mother in Macon, while spending summers with his father in Florida. Jason discovered his talent for music at an early age, making his first public appearance as a singer at the age of 14. Aside from music, he was also quite athletic growing up, and played baseball for his high school’s team. He was one of the best players in his school, and was even offered athletic scholarships at several colleges, however, he rejected them in favor of pursuing a career as a musician.

He soon started performing in bars and other small venues through the US Southeast, with the help of his father who was his booking agent at the time. In 1998, he signed a deal with Warner-Chapell Publishing which was supposed to propel his career, however, he didn’t achieve wider recognition for another five years.

Jason soon released his debut self-titled album, featuring the hit single “Hicktown” which peaked at #10 at the Billboard country chart. The follow-up single, “Why”, was even more successful, reaching the #1 spot, and launching Jason to stardom.

In 2007, Jason released his second studio album, entitled “Relentless”, which didn’t manage to fulfill all the high expectations that the listeners had, however, his follow-up album “Wide Open” (2009) was a major critical and commercial success, with three singles from the album reaching the #1 spot at the Billboard country chart.

In 2010, Jason’s fourth studio album “My Kinda Party” topped the charts, featuring a mix of country and rap music, and became Jason’s first album to reach the multi-platinum status. He has released seven more albums since then, all of which have been commercially and critically successful.

In 2016, Jason earned recognition as the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Entertainer of the Year. Three years later, he became the sixth artist to receive the ACM Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award, given to artists who have consistently been on top of the charts over the course of a decade.

Aside from music, Jason is recognized for his philanthropic efforts.

Published

on

Who is Rashad Haughton?

Haughton is an American filmmaker, well-known for directing such films as “the Mim Rose” (2000) and “Muga Shozoku” (2015), in addition to other creations, but he’s perhaps best known to the world as the older brother of actress and singer Aaliyah.

What is Rashad Haughton Doing Now?

Rashad is focused on maintaining Aaliyah’s legacy – back in 2019, he unveiled Aaliyah’s wax figure at Madame Tussauds, Las Vegas. Moreover, he was against re-releasing Aaliyah’s albums through Blackground Records 2.0, but her music was reissued, reaching the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart.

Rashad Haughton Wiki: Age, Childhood, and Education

Rashad Hasan Haughton was born on 6 August 1977, in Brooklyn, New York City USA, the son of Michael Haughton and his wife Diane; his sister, Aaliyah Dana Haughton, was born just 17 months after him. When Rashad was seven years old, the family moved to Detroit, Michigan where he went to Gesu Elementary, a Catholic school.

He later attended Aquinas High School in 1995, and then enrolled at Hofstra University, from which he graduated in 2000.

Career

With Aaliyah’s music career on the rise, Rashad was close to her, and featured in several of her music videos, including “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number”, “4 Page Letter”, “If Your Girl Only Knew”, and “Hot Like Fire”. He even wrote the synopsis for the music video “4 Page Letter”, which took him under two hours, while still at university.

In 2000, Rashad directed the film “The Mim Rose”, with Aaliyah as its main star in the role of Melissa. Two years later, the “Queen of the Damned” film was released, with Aaliyah in the lead role, but since Aaliyah had already passed away, Rashad re-dubbed several of his sister’s lines to complete the film in post-production.

His first solo effort was the short film “Crystalis”, a modern-day homage to “La Belle et La Bete (Beauty and the Beast)”. He wrote and directed the film, which follows a mystically deformed artist and his battle with emotions such as love, fear, etc. The film received high praise, encouraging Rashad to continue making more films.

Five years later, Rashad released his second film, “Love Like Aliens”, an animated fantasy about the progress of the human race, and deep space exploration with the help of new technology, with Steven Cabral, Emi Matsushima and Emi Matshusima in the lead roles.

In 2015, Rashad wrote and directed the short action-adventure film “Muga Shozoku”, about a young student and his journey through the wilderness of Japan, and his mission to unleash the power of an ancient book known as ‘MUGA’.

Rashad is also an actor, and back in 2004 appeared in the film “Proud”, which starred Reggie Austin, Vernel Bagneris and Marcus Chait, among others.

Since 2015, he has been more focused on preserving Aaliyah’s legacy, and has no new projects on which he works other than Aaliyah’s Estate company.

Net Worth

As of mid- 2022, Rashad Haughton’s net worth has been estimated at $5 million, earned largely through his successful career as a filmmaker.

Personal Life, Dating, Married, Single?

When it comes to his personal life, Rashad has been very secretive about it, which has inevitably spawned several rumors, including him being gay. However, for now, there is no reliable information about his sexuality and love life on the whole. According to reports, he’s currently single.

Appearance and Vital Statistics

The prominent filmmaker has short black hair and brown eyes. He stands at a height of 5ft 8ins (1.73m), while he weighs approximately 158lbs (72kgs). His vital statistics are unknown, though he has an average figure.

Rashad Haughton Sister Aaliyah – Short Bio

Aaliyah Dana Haughton was born on 16 January 1979 in New York City, USA. She was inclined towards singing from an early age, and would sing at weddings, charity events, and in church choirs. At five, her family moved to Detroit, where she went to the same elementary as her older brother Rashad. She later enrolled at Detroit High School for the Fine and Performing Arts.

Her uncle, Barry Hankerson, was an entertainment lawyer and Gladys Knight’s husband. Gladys, an established singer and actress, took Aaliyah under her wing, traveling with her through the US and appearing in various commercials and television programs. At ten years old, Aaliyah was featured in the “Star Search” show. Barry Hankerson struck a deal with Jive Records, and Aaliyah was signed to his Background Records when she was just 12 years old.

R. Kelly became her mentor and helped her write and produce her debut album – “Age Ain’t Nothing But a Number” – released when she was just 14 years old. The album landed at the No. 18 on Billboard 200 chart, and achieved platinum status, spawning such hits as “Back & Forth”, “At Your Best (You Are Love), and “Age Ain’t Nothing but a Number”.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CTDs8wYvVKZ/

Upon the album’s release, rumors of her illegal romance with R. Kelly began circulating, even that the two were secretly married. The marriage was annulled in February 1995 by her parents, but she would only claim that the two were rather close, and that there was nothing sexual going on between them.

However, Demetrius Smith Sr., who was R. Kelly’s tour manager, claimed in his 2011 book “The Man Behind the Man: Looking from the Inside Out”, that Kelly and Aaliyah married when he told him that she was pregnant. Moreover, in the documentary “Surviving R. Kelly”, Smith said that he helped the duo forge Aaliyah’s documents to claim she was 18 years old at the time of marriage.

Aaliyah continued her career until her untimely death, releasing albums “One in a Million” (1996), which achieved double platinum status and reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, and “Aaliyah” (2001), which was her last album and the most successful one. It topped the US Billboard 200 chart, and sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

Aaliyah died on 25 August 2001 at 22 years old, in a plane crash she chartered to Miami from Abaco Islands, the Bahamas. An investigation following the accident was launched, which determined that the airplane was overloaded and that the pilot had traces of alcohol and cocaine in his bloodstream.

At the time of her death, Aaliyah’s net worth was estimated at over $8 million.
