Who is Ashley Brewer?

The 2009 Arizona 4A state champion in the 100m backstroke swimming, Ashley Brewer, was born under the zodiac sign of Sagittarius on 13 December 1991, in Phoenix, Arizona USA; she holds American nationality and her ethnicity is White. She’s widely known as a reporter and sports anchor for the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN).

Early life, family, and education

Ashley was raised in Phoenix alongside her three brothers and a sister; from an early age she and her siblings were into sports – eldest brother Charles was a pitcher for the baseball team, Arizona Diamondbacks, brother Connor is a quarterback at the University of Virginia, while her third brother, Chase, played baseball at the University of California, Los Angeles. Ashley’s sister, Abby, played beach volleyball at the University of South Carolina, and Ashley was a swimmer.

There isn’t information about her father’s occupation, however, it’s known that his name is Robert Brewer, while her mother, Deborah Pyburn Brewer has worked as a news anchor for the Commercial Broadcast Television (CBS) for almost ten years.

Ashley attended Chaparral High School, and upon matriculating in 2009 enrolled at the University of Texas, Austin but then she transferred to the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, from which she graduated with a BA in 2014.

While she was attending high school, Ashley was a 12-time prep All-American as a swimmer and was named her school’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2010.

At college, she was a member of the varsity women’s swimming team, and in 2012, while she was at the University of Texas, she competed in the US Olympics trials for the 100m backstroke.

Career

Ashley started her career with Cox 7 as their college football sideline reporter, and then worked as the weekend sports anchor at KGUN-TV, in Tucson, Arizona before she began working for KABC-TV, in Los Angeles.

Before she started her career for ESPN, Ashley worked as the host of The Replay, which was a digital show on Quibi, and then as a weekend anchor and host for the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) covering major sports events, and as a host of the reality show “The Bachelor Winter Games” on ABC.

In 2020 she was hired by ESPN as a host for “Sports Nation”, and as a co-host of the Sunday night edition of “Game Night” on ESPN Radio.

Love life and relationships

There are various rumors concerning Ashley’s love life, and one of them was that she’s dating Kevin Wendt, one of the contestants from “The Bachelor Winter Games”, however, this was later confirmed that as a misunderstanding, since one of the girls from the show was also named Ashley.

It’s widely known that from 2019 Ashley was in a relationship with Hampus Lindholm, a professional hockey player from Sweden, who is currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL).

She posted on her Instagram a photo featuring the two of them with the description ‘Best summer yet’ and a love emoji. The picture was taken at the hotel Santa Caterina, in Amalfi, Italy, and the two were hugging with big smiles on their faces. In July 2019, Hampus also shared on his Instagram a photo featuring the two of them while they were on a yacht, sailing in Amalfi.

After these photos, they haven’t shared any pictures of themselves, so rumors that they broke-up started, however, neither Ashley nor Hampus have spoken about their relationship.

As of January 2022, Ashley seems to be single, she hasn’t been married or engaged, and doesn’t have children.

The news about Ashley leaving ESPN has echoed among her followers, however, she hasn’t left, but just transferred to ESPN+ in Los Angeles, where she is now the host of “Sports Nation”.

ESPN Press Room released a statement as saying: ‘Solidifying the line-up at its Los Angeles Production Center (LAPC), ESPN has re-signed SportsCenter anchors Neil Everett and Ashley Brewer to new contracts to remain with the network. Everett and Brewer join Stan Verrett, who also recently signed a new deal, and Linda Cohn as anchors based at the LAPC.

On a rotating basis, the four will host the 1 a.m. ET edition of SportsCenter that originates from Los Angeles and contribute to the 11 p.m. edition that originates from Connecticut.’

Hobbies and other interest

Ashley is active on her Instagram, which has been followed by over 100,000 people, posting photos and videos featuring her work, and her everyday life.

She’s into sports, and besides watching and commentating on it, she takes care of her body, and she keeps in shape by working out three to four days per week at the gym, and playing volleyball and basketball, and going swimming..

Ashley likes traveling, and thanks to her career, she’s visited several US states, and for pleasure, she’s traveled around the world. Her favorite travel destination is the Azure Coast, French Riviera, while she dreams of visiting Bali, Indonesia.

She’s an animal lover, with dogs being her favorites, and has a pet dog named Hank, often sharing pictures on her Instagram featuring it.

In her spare time, she likes reading, listening music, and watching movies; her favorite writer is Joyce Carol Oates, and her favorite books are “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” and “Blonde”. Ashley’s favorite band is Metallica, while she also loves country singer Cole Swindell.  Speaking about her favorite actors, they are Leonardo DiCaprio, Sharon Stone and Jason Momoa.
