Who is Kaili Thorne?

Kaili Elizabeth Thorne was born in Florida, USA, on 19 February 1992 – her zodiac sign is Pisces, and she holds American nationality. She’s an actress, film writer and producer, with 14 acting credits to her name, perhaps still known best for her portrayal of Mayna in the 2011 action horror comedy movie “Chillerama”, directed by Adam Green and Joe Lynch, and which starred Adam Rifkin, Sarah Much and Ray Wise. The film is actually a collection of four movies, and won a Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award for Best Independent Film.

Early life and education

Kaili was raised alongside her half-siblings Dani, Remy and Annabella Thorne, by their father Delancey Reinaldo ‘Rey’ Thorne, who died in a motorcycle accident on 25 April 2007, aged 44, and her Hawaiian mother who’s a housewife. The most popular person in the family is perhaps Annabella Avery ‘Bella’ Thorne, who’s today a famous actress, model and singer, probably known best for her performance in the Disney comedy series “Shake It Up”.

Motivated by her half-sister Bella, Kaili grew up wanting to become an actress as well. She spent the first 10 years of her life in Hawaii, and was a member of her elementary school’s drama club, appearing in various plays performed at the school.

The family them lived in Miami, Florida, where Kaili attended a local high school, and appeared in plays performed at a local theatre. She was 14 years old and attending her freshman year, when she launched her professional acting career with her portrayal of Olivia in the 2006 episode “The Summer Bummer” of the critically acclaimed romantic comedy series “The O. C.”. Created by Josh Schwartz, it starred Mischa Barton and Adam Brody, and follows several teenagers who have befriended a group of rich people in Newport Beach, Orange County in California; the series aired from 2003 to 2007, and won 15 of the 37 awards for which it was nominated.

Kaili then continued acting throughout her education, then upon matriculating in 2010, she moved to New York to practice acting, and eventually moved to Los Angeles, California where she’s residing today.

Roles in TV series

In 2007, Kaili appeared as Jessie in the episodes “Out with a Bang” and “The Cost of a T-Shirt” of the popular family drama “Lincoln Heights”, created by Seth Freeman, and which starred Russell Hornsby, Nicki Micheaux and Erica Hubbard. It follows a family who have just moved into a neighborhood filled with crime, and are trying to help their new community; the series aired from 2006 to 2009, and won two of the 19 awards for which it was nominated.

In 2010, Kaili guest starred as Lindsey Peterson in the episode “See No Evil” of the mystery crime drama “CSI: Miami”, and in 2017, she was cast to star as Charlotte, in all the seven episodes of the science fiction drama “Children of the Machine”. It was created by Jeff Stockwell and Marco Weber, also starred Kate Butler and Misha Crosby, and follows several teenagers who are living in a futuristic America, which has been rebelled against by its own intelligent technology, while global warming is threatening to destroy all life on Earth.

Kaili’s only other role in a TV series has been her portrayal of Bridgette, in the 2017 pilot episode of the popular crime drama “Snowfall”.

Roles in movies

She made her debut film appearance with her portrayal of Toni, in the 2007 horror thriller drama “Demons”, and the following year saw Kaili play Water Girl, in the popular romantic comedy drama “Blind Ambition”. It was directed by Bala Rajasekharuni, starred Michelle Massey, Jaysha Patel and Gulshan Grover, and follows a blind teenager Sapna, who wants to complete a marathon as a way to pay her respect to her deceased mother; the movie won two awards.

A couple of Kaili’s following roles were in the 2008 short adventure drama “Viola: The Traveling Rooms of a Little Giant”, the 2010 crime drama “Night and Day”, and the 2012 comedy “All the Wrong Places”. In 2016, she was cast to play Madison Arthur, in the romantic family drama “Late Bloomer”, written by Rick Garman, directed by W. D. Hogan, and which starred Italia Ricci, Nathan Parsons and Madison Pettis. It follows a woman who has fallen in love with a man who used to bully her when they were teenagers.

Kaili’s only other two movie roles have been in the 2016 thriller drama “Ice Scream”, and the 2017 drama “The Tribes of Palos Verdes”.

Love life and relationships

Kaili’s more or less secretive when it comes to talking about her love life, but has still allowed her fans to have a glimpse into it. She revealed on 30 July 2019 that she was in a relationship with Brett Lietzke, as she featured him in an Instagram picture; the two have since been together, and Kaili nowadays features him in most of the pictures which she’s uploading onto her Instagram account.

Brett’s not nearly as popular as Kaili, and is today working as a football coach. He’s revealed that he’s highly religious, as he goes to church at least once a week, that he’s into tasting various cuisines, and enjoys travelling.
