Who is Shiho Yoshimura?
Shiho Yoshimura was born in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, on 13 December 1989 – her zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and she holds Japanese nationality. She’s a former professional volleyball player, who’s probably known best for having competed in the V Premier League with the Ageo Medics.
Early life and education
Shiho was raised in Japan alongside her older sister, by their parents about whom nothing’s known, because Shiho respects their privacy; it’s believed that her father was a professional soccer player, and that her mother was also a volleyball player.
Shiho became interested in volleyball at a very early age, mostly because her sister played the same sport for her high school team, and was apparently amongst the best players there.
Shiho attended a local elementary school, and was into various activities during her eight years there, including acting with the school’s drama club, dancing and practicing creative writing.
She enrolled at Kawasaki Tachibana High School 2004, and became even more serious about volleyball; it was around this time that Shiho started playing professionally, and played in her first tournaments.
She matriculated in 2008, and then enrolled at Tokai University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2012.
Shiho’s career was launched while she was still attending a local high school, as she competed in the Saga Inter High league in 2007; Shiho and her team reached the final four.
She turned professional upon enrolling at Tokai University, as she joined the team Akari Omi, and entered a championship with them, however, they didn’t perform well. Shiho then became a member of the Kaname Yamaguchi team, finishing runner-up in the second Japanese league.
She became the 26th representative of the 2011 Summer Universiade in July of the same year, and in December, Shiho helped her team win the All Japan Incare competition, and was also presented with the Best Scorer Award.
After this victory, she joined the team Ageo Medics, competing in the V Challenge League Division 2. The league was launched in 1998 as V1 League, while its name was changed to what it is today in 2006.
It was divided into two leagues on 2 February 2015, while the first league included the best eight volleyball teams, and the second the lower ranked teams.
Shiho gained recognition in the 2012/2013 season, when she helped her team Ageo Medics win the championship, and she was presented with the Best New Face Award. In 2013, she was chosen to serve as the representative of the Summer Universiade.
She spent the following three years competing in the league, before retiring from professional volleyball in 2016.
Shiho has a single acting credit. She starred in the 2019 drama “Shima no Sea Glass”, written and directed by Tusuke Sakakibara, and which starred Mitsuru Hirata, Sora Tamaki and Masatomo Yoshino.
It follows the 68-year-old man Kanda who has moved to Yu Island in Kumamoto, but isn’t getting along with his neighbors. He spends most of his time looking at his art collection, but this changes after Kanda meets the young girl Akari. The movie won Yusuke Sakakibara a Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia Best Short Film Award for Asia International Competition.
Shiho is highly active on Instagram, and seems to be enjoying the attention which she’s receiving from her close to 50,000 followers, while she has uploaded over 150 pictures onto the network, most of which have been taken during her everyday life, and thus reveal a lot about her.
She’s still a huge fan of volleyball, and is apparently still practicing it, while there are rumors circulating the internet claiming that Shiho is today coaching a high school volleyball team, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Most of Shiho’s fans believe that she’s lesbian, claiming that this is why she hasn’t spoken of the men whom she has perhaps been with. A couple of her fans have even claimed to have seen her spending time with a girl who could perhaps be her girlfriend, as the two were rather too close, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
