Turkish actress Cemre Baysel was born in Izmir, Turkey on 5 February 1999, so Aquarius is her zodiac sign. She’s appeared in 10 TV series but not a single movie, while she’s perhaps known best for starring as Ada Tozun in the critically acclaimed 2021 comedy “Twist of Fate”, which also starred Aytac Sazmaz and Idris Nebi Taskan, and follows the life of Ada who grew up believing that she would marry the love of her life Ruzgar, but he’s now abandoned her. The series won one of its 10 award nominations.
Education and early life
Cemre was raised in Izmir by her parents, about whom she hasn’t revealed many details because she respects their privacy; it’s known that her father’s family comes from the Balkans, and that her mother’s family’s from Urfa, Turkey. As Cemre hasn’t spoken about having siblings, most of her fans believe that she has none.
She became interested in acting at quite an early age, as she and her mother often watched TV series together. Cemre enrolled at local high school in 2013, and the following year saw her make her debut TV series appearance, playing Gonca Makasci in seven episodes of the comedy “Yesil Deniz”, which starred Mert Turak, Ali Barkin and Elvan Disli, and follows the people living in a small Turkish town.
Although Cemre’s since been active in the film industry, she also remained focused on her education, and upon matriculating in 2017, enrolled at Ege University in Izmir, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2021.
Career as an actress
In 2017, Cemre played Masal in two episodes of the critically acclaimed romantic comedy “Ask Laftan Anlamaz”, which starred Hande Ercel, Burak Deniz and Elcin Afacan, and follows the life of Hayat, a country girl with strict parents; the series won three of its nine award nominations. Also in 2017, Cemre played Gulperi in four episodes of the war action “Isimsizler”.
In 2017 and 2018, she portrayed Firuze in 18 episodes of the popular historical action “Payitaht Abdulhamid”, which starred Hakan Boyav , Bahadir Yenisehirlioglu and Bulent Inal, and follows Abdulhamid II’s struggles to keep the Ottoman Empire together – the series aired from 2017 through 2021 and won one of its 21 award nominations.
In 2018 and 2019, Cemre starred as Melis Celen in the popular drama “Don’t Let Go of My Hand”, which also starred Alina Boz, Alp Navruz and Dolunay Soysert, and follows Azra who wants to follow in her father’s footsteps, and is thus attending a culinary school overseas; the series was nominated for 13 awards.
The year 2020 saw Cemre play Fatos in 11 episodes of the crime drama “Ramo”, which follows a war between two families, while two opposing members have now fallen in love. In the same year, she portrayed Biricik, one of the main characters in the hit drama “Sol Yanim”, which also starred Ozge Yagiz and Tolga Mendi, and follows the lives of a mother and her daughter Serra as they’re trying to survive in an ordinary neighborhood.
In 2022, Cemre starred as Efsun Armagan in the romantic comedy “Senden Daha Guzel”, which also starred Burak Celik and Berat Yenilmez, and follows doctor Emir from Istanbul who’s fallen for doctor Efsun from Antep; the series was nominated for a Golden Butterfly for Best Romantic Comedy TV Series at the 2022 Pantene Golden Butterfly Awards.
Cemre’s since had only a single role: she played Sevda in a 2023 episode of the crime mystery “The Steppe”, but is set to make her debut film appearance, having been cast to star in the upcoming movie “Ask Filmi”.

Cemre won a 2021 Pantene Golden Butterfly Award for Rising Star, and was also nominated for two other Golden Butterflies in the same year, for Best Actress in a Romantic Comedy Series and Best TV Couple, both for her performance in “Baht Oyunu”.
She was also nominated for a 2019 Turkey Youth Golden Star Award for Best Supporting TV Actress, for “Elimi Birakma”, and a 2021 Ayakli Gazete TV Stars Footed Newspaper Award for Best TV Series Couple, for “Baht Oyunu”.

Cemre prefers not to speak about her love life in public, but it’s known that she’s today in a relationship with Turkish actor Aytac Sasmaz, whom she met when they were shooting together for the 2021 movie “Twist of Fate”.
Aytac’s a year older than Cemre, and has appeared in only seven movies and TV series; he’s best known for his role in “Twist of Fate”, although he’s also been praised for his performances in the 2017 romantic action series “Soz”, the 2020 romantic movie “Ask Tesadufleri Sever 2”, and the 2021 mystery comedy series “Hekimoglu”.
Cemre hasn’t spoken about other men whom she’s maybe dated, she’s in a relationship with Aytac Sasmaz as of March 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
