Chelsea Kane is an American singer and actress – known widely as Stella Malone in Disney Channel’s “JONAS” – who is famous for portraying Riley in the Freeform series “Baby Daddy.”

Age, Early Life, and Education Background

The multifaceted entertainer was born Chelsea Kane Staub under the Virgo zodiac sign on 15 September 1988, in Arizona, USA, which makes her 33 years old as of 2021. She was the only child by her mother Becky Staub, who was a flamenco dancer, and her husband, John Staub, who was previously a  trapeze artist. Chels, as her family and close friends call her, is of English, German and Irish roots.

Kane joined a local primary school in Phoenix, then the Scottsdale-based Saguaro High School. She later moved to Los Angeles and became a participant in the Valley Youth Theater.

Kane made her debut in 2001 when she featured in the short film “Failure of Pamela Salt.” She was seen next in the direct-to-video film “Arizona Summer”, before playing Meredith in the family musical theatrical movie “Bratz,” which aired in 2007 and stars Janel Parrish and Skyler Shaye – however, the film received many negative reviews. In the following year, Kane portrayed Stephanie in the adventure comedy “Minutemen” before she played her first starring role in 2009’s “Zac Efron’s Pool Party.”

2008 was one of her busiest years; she appeared in several TV shows such as “Wizards of Waverly Place” (as Kari), “The Bill Engvall Show” sitcom as Erica, “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream,” and also in five episodes of “Disney Channel Games.”

In 2011, Kane played the starring role of Annie alongside Minni Jo and Justin Jeso in “The Homes,” which follows the story of Stella, a teenager who relocates to Pittsburgh and meets with a neighbour who is the lead vocalist of his band. She next played the role of Tara Richards in the Teen Choice Award-nominated (30 nominations) sports drama “One Tree Hill,” which saw her make her career breakthrough. She also voiced Bea in close to 90 episodes of the animated series “Fish Hooks” until 2014.

Between 2012-2017, she played the protagonist role of Riley in the acclaimed family drama “Baby Daddy” together with Melissa Peterman, Jean-Luc Bilodeau, and Derek Theler. The series bagged several People’s Choice Awards and was also nominated for several others. She is also credited with voicing several characters in more than 20 episodes of the animated action “Hot Streets”  (2016-2019).
