Danny made his acting debut portraying Bust-Ass in the 2003 movie “All the Real Girls”, followed by his role as Fred Simmons in “The Foot Fist Away”, which brought him a Austin Film Critics Association Breakthrough Artist Award; the script was written by himself, Jody Hill and Ben Best.

In the following years, Danny made appearances in several movies such as “Hot Road”, “The Heartbreak Kid”, and “Drillbit Taylor”, before he portrayed Red in “Pineapple Express” starring James Franco, Seth Rogen, and Gary Cole, which brought him a nomination for Detroit Film Critics Society Award – Best Newcomer.
