Dominic ‘Dom’ Panganiban, better known by his online alias Domics, was born on 27 September 1990 under the zodiac sign of Libra, in Manila, Philippines. Nonetheless, it’s known that he spent part of his childhood in Saudi Arabia where his father worked as an accountant. He has an elder sister and a younger sister, but their names aren’t disclosed. In 1997, the family moved to Canada and settled down in Hamilton, Ontario, where they lived for a year, after which they lived in Mississauga, Ontario. They also lived in the United States before they returned to Toronto.
He holds both Filipino and Canadian nationalities and belongs to a mixed ethnic group, being of part East/Southeast Asian and part Polynesian ancestry. Regarding his education, Domics attended International Philippine School in Al Khobar, and also went to St. Barbara High School and Freedom High School. Dominic has always been interested in sketching and comics, and developed his artistic skills as a teenager under the influence of anime he watched. In July 2010, he began creating web comics and sharing them on his own blog on Tumblr.
He then chose to name himself Domics, which is the combination of his name ‘Dominic’ and the word ‘comics’. Once he gained moderate success on the platform, he took a step further and became active on YouTube, by which time he’d amassed more than 100,000 followers on Tumblr.
Rise to Fame on YouTube
Domics launched his official YouTube channel ‘Domics’ on 11 August 2012. He immediately started creating animated storytelling videos, and uploaded his debut video entitled “Domics: Rural”, two days later. The video quickly gained popularity and attracted a lot of people to subscribe to his channel.
He continued to create similar videos in which he illustrates certain aspects of his life, and thanks to his unique storytelling style, his YouTube channel quickly became one of the most popular “draw my life” channels in the category. By March 2015 he’d hit his first million subscribers, and as of late-2021, he’s garnered more than 7.4 million subscribers on the channel ,and over 1.1 billion views in total. Some of the most popular videos that have been viewed more than 20 million times include “Crushes”, “Butts”, and “Buying Used Things”, to name a few. Moreover, he’s also collaborated with several famous YouTubers, including Jack Douglass among others, and his videos have been featured on such websites as CBS News’ website, the Malay Mail Online, and NewNowNext.
He’s also worked for a YouTube network called Fullscreen, as well as a multi-channel YouTube network known as Channel Frederator Network.

Apart from running his main YouTube channel, Domics has another called ‘DUMBics’, on which he shared some ‘dumb’ videos. The channel was launched on 27 May 2013, and although now inactive, had more than 32,000 subscribers with over 820,000 views in total. Some of his most popular videos included “[Stepmania] DAAAAMN, DANIEL (Bombs Away Remix)”, “pen spin”, and “Nala of the Day”, among others.

In addition to his career on Tumblr and YouTube, Domics expanded his influence across other social media platforms, which he uses to promote his videos and other projects. He has almost 75,000 followers on the streaming platform Twitch, on which he streams video games under the name ‘DOMICS’. He also runs his official Instagram account with almost 700,000 subscribers, as well as his official Twitter account with more than 510,000 followers, both under the same nickname ‘OmNomDomz’. He also runs his own Facebook page with nearly 290,000 followers, and has his own website on which he uploads his works.
Besides that, he was the owner of a gaming café located in Mississauga, known as Domics’ CG! Gaming Café from 2018 until it was shut down in 2021.

His middle name means ‘foolish’, while his last name means ‘danger’ in Tagalog. He has a fear of being forgotten.
