Who is aDrive?

Daniel Clap, known better online as aDrive, was born under the zodiac sign of Aquarius on 16 February 1991, in Danbury, Connecticut USA; he holds American nationality, and his ethnicity is White. He’s a Twitch streamer, social media personality, and YouTuber, perhaps known best for his YouTube channel launched on 2 September 2011, which is today subscribed to by nearly 900,000 people, and all of his videos combined have gained over 325 million views; they mostly feature his Pokemon tutorials, reactions, un-packing Pokemon packs of cards, and ‘let’s play’ content.

Early life and education

aDrive was raised in Bethel by his father, since his parents divorced when he was a teenager; there is no information about siblings, so it’s assumed that he’s an only child.

He attended a local high school, and upon matriculating in 2009, enrolled at Western Connecticut State University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business administration in 2013.

While he was in high school and at the college, aDrive joined bands, with whom he’s toured, and opened for bands such as Paramore, Bon Jovi, and Gavin DeGraw, among many others.

Career

After graduating, aDrive worked as a research analyst for two years, and then launched his YouTube channel planning to upload “Call of Duty” content. He then established his Twitch account, and soon he became a Twitch partner after his channel grew, due to his popularity as one of the top-level Pokemon battlers.

He was an avid Pokemon fan from when he was a teenager, and made a name for himself by joining and participating in Pokemon leagues such as the Global Battle Association, Lumiose Station, and Team Kaliber whose director he eventually became. He calls himself “Shiny King” of the Pokemon community because, he’s collected over 1,000 shiny Pokemons.

His fan base was rising day by day, since he was covering all aspects of the Pokemon world, such as championship play, trading card game, and Pokemon GO.  aDrive was eventually streaming for up to 20 hours per day, and his passion for Pokemons started to pay off, as he’s had partnerships with various brands and companies, such as Elgato, G Fuel, Reeses, and GameStop, among others.

aDrive has also launched his merchandise stores Ownaj and MerchLand, an sells keychains, mugs, T-shirts, and all kinds of merchandise with his signature.

Most viewed videos

aDrive has been creating Pokemon videos for over seven years; the content is family-friendly because he wants to be a role model to his young viewers, and he’s aware of the fact that his niece and nephew are watching him. He’s known as an accomplished competitive Pokemon player, and has become a coach for the team “Rampadors” from Saint Louis, Missouri, and the “Metapods” from New York City.

His most viewed video “100 EPIC SHINY POKEMON REACTIONS! Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Shiny Montage” was uploaded on 24 July 2015, and has gained over 2.5 million views.

His second most viewed video on his channel is “Poketuber Reacts to ‘I Attempted my First Pokemon Nuzlocke'” which has been uploaded on 16 July 2020 and has amassed over two million views.

Third on his list of most viewed videos is “DANTDM pulled the GOLDEN POKEMON CARD! Absolutely INSANE!”, uploaded on 23 January 2021, and viewed nearly two million times – it’s a collaboration with famous English YouTuber Daniel Robert Middleton, known better online as Dan TDM.

Presence on social media platforms

aDrive’s Instagram account is followed by over 400,000 people; he’s posted over 650 photos, mostly featuring Pokemon content.

He established his Twitter account in June 2009, and it’s today followed by over 150,000 people, while he tweeted over 100,000 times; his Twitch profile has gained over 550,000 followers.

Love life and relationships

There were various rumors concerning both aDrive’s love life and his sexual orientation, however, rumors stopped when he presented his future wife, Dani, in one of his videos.

On 4 July 2015, he proposed to her in front of their family and friends, performing a song which he wrote for her; they married in July 2016. Two years later, on 13 July 2018, Dani gave birth to their daughter Dallas Rose, named after Dani’s grandmother.

As of December 2021, aDrive is married to Dani, and they have one child.

Hobbies and other interests

One of the important aspects of aDrive’s work is philanthropy; he’s participated in raising money for charity events, for example in June 2020, he raised over $90,000 through an 80-hour streaming marathon, and in October of the same year, he raised nearly $300,000 for the organization Games for Love.

aDrive is into traveling and has visited a couple of US states, mostly to participate in Pokemon tournaments; his favorite travel destination is Anaheim, California where he won first place at the One Nation of Gamers Pokemon Invitational, and placed highly at the season four and five of the Global Battle Association (GBA). aDrive dreams about visiting London, England in 2022, to participate in the Pokemon World Championship, which should take place in August, in ExCel London events center.

aDrive likes to spend time with his family and friends, but one of his favorite hobbies is music, and he still performs and publishes under the name ‘From Me to Your Stereo on the Bandcamp’, an internet music company from Oakland, California.

He isn’t into sports, preferring to play video games – his favorites are “Pokemon”, “Minecraft”, “Legend of Zelda”, and “Skyrim”, among others.

In his spare time, he likes to watch movies; his favorite actor is Robert Downey Junior, and his favorite movies are from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) such as “Iron Man”, “The Incredible Hulk”, and “Spider-Man”.

He is also a big fan of anime – his favorites are “Pokemon”, “Dragon Ball Z”, “Attack on Titan “, and “Demon Slayer”.

aDrive is 30 years old, he has brown hair and brown eyes, weighs around 176lbs (80kgs), and is 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall.

As of December 2021, his net worth has been estimated at $900,000; he has a minimum income of $25,000 per month from his YouTube channel.
